Upgrade mysql on boss/ops
@stoller's recent attempt to apply old updates to a copy of tbdb
on a mysql 5.7 install revealed some incompatibilities between our current schema and current versions of mysql--in particular, we have some column names that clash with reserved keywords (e.g., "partitions").
@duerig asked the question about how we want to address this going forward. Clearly we have to fix our code base to bring it back into compliance, but do we do the minimum or do we do a complete clean up of our dubious practices. At a minimum, we need to quote at least the offending table/column names in our queries. Also, at one point in the past, someone (Brian Kroth?) wondered why we were still using MyISAM instead of InnoDB as our engine. Maybe a time to reconsider that.
This becomes more of an issue since mysql 5.5 (our current) was EOL'ed by FreeBSD back in October and thus is getting no security updates and will disappear from the ports tree before long.
