Big changes a comin' to try to get us back on the supported path. * perl 5.14 -> 5.20 * mysql 5.1 -> 5.5 * php 5.4 -> 5.6 * tcl 8.4 -> 8.6 * number of vim patches up to 683. Not everything tested yet, but getting there. Specific changes: * New install/ports directory. New packages for FreeBSD 10.1 are version 6.1. Cleaned up the ports' Makefiles getting rid of conditionals for all older versions. Also got rid of ports we don't use. Old ports tree is now install/oports. * Install script changes. Make sure /usr/bin/perl and /usr/local/bin/python links exist. Ports no longer make these but we use them in '#!'. Changes to mysql install and startup script--mysql has changed a LOT since we did the support in 4.x. Create syslog entry for named.log. Make sure php.conf loads the legacy "mysql" module rather than using "mysqli". * Elabinelab support. reflect new packages, remove all old packages (except perl) before installing new versions, install "extras" package, make sure sendmail cert get regenerated, make sure /usr/bin/perl link exists, make sure /usr/local/bin/python link exists. * Custom ports. otcl and xerces-c2 have both been removed from the ports tree as of Q2 2015. ipmitool-devel is a port for the latest version of ipmitool. The FreeBSD port is still a rev behind here. We need the newer version as it appears to make our SOL consoles more stable. * Random. Fixed prerender as neato output has changed again. Tweak to sslxmlrpc_server to reflect change in an underlying library. Tweak to db/libdb.py.in to turn on autocommit which matters now as mysql 5.5 will hang on a metadata lock otherwise. Remade eventsys perl/python stubs with SWIG 2.0. SWIG 1.3 did not produce working stubs for perl 5.20. Specific un-changes: * Apache is still at 2.2. I lack the guts and skilz to upgrade to 2.4. * Xerces library is still at (now unsupported) 2.8. Assign will need changes before we can move to 3.x. * Python is still 2.7. Thanks to Keith Sklower for all the work he did converting ports!

This commit is intended to makes the license status of Emulab and ProtoGENI source files more clear. It replaces license symbols like "EMULAB-COPYRIGHT" and "GENIPUBLIC-COPYRIGHT" with {{{ }}}-delimited blocks that contain actual license statements. This change was driven by the fact that today, most people acquire and track Emulab and ProtoGENI sources via git. Before the Emulab source code was kept in git, the Flux Research Group at the University of Utah would roll distributions by making tar files. As part of that process, the Flux Group would replace the license symbols in the source files with actual license statements. When the Flux Group moved to git, people outside of the group started to see the source files with the "unexpanded" symbols. This meant that people acquired source files without actual license statements in them. All the relevant files had Utah *copyright* statements in them, but without the expanded *license* statements, the licensing status of the source files was unclear. This commit is intended to clear up that confusion. Most Utah-copyrighted files in the Emulab source tree are distributed under the terms of the Affero GNU General Public License, version 3 (AGPLv3). Most Utah-copyrighted files related to ProtoGENI are distributed under the terms of the GENI Public License, which is a BSD-like open-source license. Some Utah-copyrighted files in the Emulab source tree are distributed under the terms of the GNU Lesser General Public License, version 2.1 (LGPL).

* add an "active" flag to the template record, which will be used by the user to indicate what templates he wants listed (rather then the roots). Basically, the current working templates, rather then a big graph. But I never actually finished that cause it sorta morphed into: * Added a vis_graphs table to cache the last generated visualization rendering in the database so that we do not have to wait so long for: * Add new buttons to showexp and template_show pages, to display in the same page either the settings (current view), the NS file, or the visualization (along with zoom in/out buttons). And now I can go back to that "active" thing I mentioned up above ...

Also pay attention to new DB flag "no_exclusion" which prevents the zone from ever being drawn, and is used to reduce visual clutter by turning of the zone for some obstacles. Also remove the blue border around the zones, again to reduce visual clutter.

Some more robot integration. * event/lib/event.h, event/lib/event.c: Add some event_notification creation functions that get used in event-sched. * event/sched/event-sched.c, event/sched/rpc.h, event/sched/rpc.cc: Sync the start of event time with the robots reaching their initial positions. This is done by creating a master event-sequence that takes care of sending the SETDEST events and then starting the Simulator timeline. * mote/tbuisp.in: Use node_reboot instead of ssh'ing in. * robots/GNUmakefile.in: Don't build tbsetdest if ulsshxmlrpcpp is not available. * robots/emc/loclistener.in: Clear the destination values for a node when it reaches its destination. * robots/primotion/garcia-pilot.cc, robots/primotion/pilotClient.cc: Some cleanup and debugging. * robots/primotion/wheelManager.cc: Check the rear sensors for obstructions and then decide which way to pivot. * robots/rmcd/pilotConnection.h, robots/rmcd/pilotConnection.c, robots/rmcd/rclip.h: Even more tweaking. * robots/tbsetdest/tbsetdest.cc: Don't generate points that are outside the camera bounds or inside an obstacle. * robots/vmcd/visionTrack.c, robots/vmcd/vmcd.h, robots/vmcd/vmcd.c: Add more debugging output. * tbsetup/os_setup.in: Removed the robot hack used when deciding which nodes to reconfig/reboot. Added a robot hack to avoid rebooting a robot whose mote is being os_load'd, since it would interrupt tbuisp which does the reboot anyways. Also fixed a small typo. * tbsetup/ns2ir/node.tcl, tbsetup/ns2ir/sim.tcl.in: Oops, forgot to convert degrees to radians. * tbsetup/ns2ir/topography.tcl: When checking for node destination points in obstacles, include the implicit exclusion zone. * tmcd/common/bootsubnodes: Add empty "mote" case. * tmcd/linux-sg/GNUmakefile.in: Make some of the /etc subdirs when doing the install. * tmcd/linux-sg/rc.stargate: Start garcia-pilot. * vis/floormap.in: Add options for showing the camera bounds, obstacle exclusion zones, and displaying vnames instead of pnames. * www/ledpipe.php3: Finally figured out how to use a socket instead of popening a perl script. * www/robotmap.php3: Add checkboxes for displaying/not displaying the camera bounds and obstacle exclusion zones. Add a legend showing what actual vs. destination points are. Pass pid/eid through to vis/floormap if it is given. * www/showexp.php3: Add a "Robot Map" link to experiments that have allocated garcias. * www/floormap/map_legend_node.gif, www/floormap/map_legend_node_dst.gif: Icons used by the robot map legend. * www/floormap/robots-4.jpg: Added an obstacle around the entryway so people are slightly less likely to trip over the robots. Added a coordinate system legend to the top left corner. * www/tutorial/mobilewireless.php3: Add links to David's movie of the robot making its way around the pillar. * www/tutorial/robot_anim.gif: A nifty gifanim clip of the robot movie. * xmlrpc/emulabserver.py.in: Pull the camera data from the DB, instead of returning hardcoded stuff.

* If there is a destination for a rebot, display that as a shadow circle. Draw a light grey line from source to destination. * If an orientation is in the location_info table, the current location circle gets a stick drawn in that direction. * If the destination has an orientation in the nodes table, the shadow circle gets a stick drawn in that direction. * I added a little bit of code so that labels are drawn on top if the orientation stick would draw through it. I'm sure that will interact with cropping badly if a node is right at the edge of the picture.

* New database table to store obstacles, in the usual coord system; x1,y1, is the upper left corner. * New web page to dump the entire obstacle list https://www.emulab.net/obstacle_list.php3 * New web page to dump a single obstacle, referenced by the above list page, and by the floormap generator. * Hack up the floormap code to add obstacles to the areamap, so that when you mouse over them, you get a ballon showing the description, and a link to the above mentioned page.

nodes, and then if allocated and person has permission, the vname and pid/eid. Note that tip tool ballons have no formatting capabilities at all; just a simple text string. If we want fancier, I found some javascript code that will popup real windows, and then kill them like a tool tip after a short pause or when the user mouses out. The downside of the real window is that with some window managers, you still get a status bar along the top, and so it looks icky. The upside is that we can put real information and formatting directives in the popup.

option was given (as is when called from experiment page). This restricts the nodes to just those in the experiment. This interacts with ghosting mode (where other nodes on other floors are shown). In the above case, should ghosting show all nodes on other floors, or just nodes in the experiment on other floors? For now, it does the latter, but it might useful to have a mode for the other case?

generally improve the clarity and appearance of the maps. The scale factor buttons numbered 1-5 actually correspond to scale factors of 1, 1.5, 2, 2.5, and 3. Notice that the floorimages table in the database now has an integer "scale" column to distinguish the cached zoomed-in images with a suffix "-[1-5].jpg" . I use jpeg files instead of the png files that were used before. They look as good or better, and are a third the size. Panning around at a given zoom factor just involves cropping out a different rectangle of the scaled-up images. The 0311X064_[1-4]fl.pdf floor map files we got from Michael Kay started out life in Adobe Illustrator. Although GhostScript/gv crash while trying to draw the pdf files, extracting them into PostScript files in Acrobat on Coke allows GhostScript to render them flawlessly. I started out using gs to render jpeg files in the shell, and then found that ImageMagick uses the same GhostScript renderer, and nicely handles cropping, drawing and annotations, and format conversion as well. The PostScript rendering gets slow at higher zoom factors. So I cache the zoomed floor images, scaled up by rendering the PostScript files at a finer dot-pitch (density) in GhostScript, and then cropping out the right rectangle to register them properly. For readability, and to avoid having the thin lines and bitmap fonts used in some parts of the PostScript map from falling between the pixel cracks, I actually render at twice the pixel density and filter down to the final image with a gaussian -sharpen option to keep it from looking blurry. ImageMagick is callable from both the shell and as the Image::Magick package in Perl. I converted the Perl logic in floormap.in to use Image::Magick instead of the GD graphics library, resulting in anti-aliased (smoothed) drawing of the wireless node dots and labels on floor maps for a better appearance. Then I added optional scaling and centering arguments which select the proper cached zoomed-in image, and drive the logic for cropping and drawing. I modified the floormap.php3 file to wrap an input form around a set of zoom control buttons and the floormap image. The zoom buttons set the scale argument to the Perl floormap script called on the server. The floor map image itself is wrapped in a graphical submit button, so clicking on it returns the mouse coordinates within the image, which are then sent to the centering argument of the Perl script.
